Finally!!! ……….. I’m blogging… twitting…whatever… It’s been a long time since i wrote a blog but my site was being re-designed and finally all is ready! So, enjoy the new site with new photos and recordings. I hope that you are having a great time this summer and you are up for some adventures….
I’m moving at the moment so all is pear shaped…within all this I’m learning the title role from Sakellaridi’s Greek Operetta ‘Vaftistikos’ which I am delighted to be performing within the KYPRIA International Music Festival in September. The shows will be performed by the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra and Greek conductor Giorgos Aravides, with soloists from the Athens Opera House.
I was very happy last week to sing David Fanshawe’s ‘African Sanctus’ a whole year after I performed it in Bahrain with the Manama Singers, a few days before David’s sudden death… I love this piece and every time I perform it I get a very special type of energy from it, one that I can’t really put into words. Many congatulations for a fantastic concert to everybody involved! Conductor John Gibbons and the Lord Williams Festival Chorus, pianist Christopher Northam, the excellent percussionists and electric guitars band.
Do check out my new site when you have a minute and order the ‘Hymn for Cyprus’ from iTunes or Amazon stores! It is a beautiful symphonic piece composed by Roman Kariolou and I am very happy that it’s the new Boarding Music of Cyprus Airways.
I’ll write again soon with news about my forthcoming performances and my first CD which will come out in the autumn. Till then, have a lovely Sunday and be happy always.
KaterinaXx
