Don Giovanni...

Dear friends,

It’s been a while since I wrote a blog, but I hope that you are all well and happy and enjoy the start of the New Year.  I was extremely busy during the last three months and was able to have a little break between Xmas and New Year. With the start of the year I revised the role of Donna Elvira which went extremely well in Don Giovanni’s production in Bahrain at the end of January. I was very happy to return to Bahrain after singing the African Sanctus there last summer, and utterly delighted to be going back again at the end of March to perform Haydn’s Creation with the Manama Singers.

I love the character of Donna Elvira and I was extremely happy to work along a starry cast for Don Giovanni. I will be adding new material on the website soon, with photos and reviews of the production, and hopefully re-design the site itself….so I hope that everything will be ready by the end of March! ….

I just returned from Athens where the CD I recorded in December is not far from being released! I will be confirming the launch of it very soon, but I’m hoping that it will take place at the beginning of April in Athens. In the meantime, I will be in Cyprus soon, for this year’s Woman of the Year Awards organised by the magazine Madame Figaro. I won the award two years ago, but I was so happy to be nominated again this year and I am very much looking forward to the awards’ ceremony.

While I am in Cyprus I will be performing for the first time, some of the most beautiful film music by composers Roman Kariolou and Ennio Morricone, as part of a pre-Oscar’s evening at Londa in Limassol. Roman will be playing the piano and I am very excited about it as this will be the first of many film music concerts to follow.

There’s a lot of work coming up in the following months for which I am very thankful. I will keep you posted with future plans in the next blog!
