…. Cosi fan tutte toured for four weeks in the Far-East and Middle-East… and what a joy it was to be part of this tour! I’m feeling a bit ‘spaced out’ after a 30 hour return journey, but something urges me to write a blog today, before I start working on new repertoire…
European Chamber Opera toured with Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte this year, and I was delighted to sing Fiordiligi with an excellent cast and colleagues under the musical direction of conductor Carl Penlington-Williams. The tour started from Kuweit, it then went to Sapporo/Tokyo/Kobe in Japan and finished in Thailand’s beautiful town Chiang Rai. If eight months ago someone told me that singing would take me to these amazing destinations, I wouldn’t have believed it!
From the hot and humid weather of Kuweit, to snow and wind in Japan, to the cool breeze of the first days of winter in Chiang Rai… the whole trip was a wonderful journey through different cultures, smells and colours, that will remain in my memory for ever.
I’m pleased to be back in the UK, and very thankful to be so busy in the following months. I’m looking forward to Beethoven’s 9th Symphony at St. John’s Smith Square on the 5th of December and to many more concerts in the new year. I have a lot of new repertoire to learn in the following months, mainly contemporary, but I am also extremely happy to be focusing on the role of Violetta from La Traviata.
I will be adding new recording material on the website, new photos and video clips, so watch out! I’ve been away for the last four weeks hence the delay in adding La Voix Humaine material… but I promise to do everything soon!
Wishing you health and happiness, and sending you kisses,
