La Voix Humaine

Dear Friends,

I am so sorry I haven’t written a blog since July! This can only mean that I am very busy with singing which is a blessing… I hope that you are well and that you enjoyed your summer, mine was very exciting and creative.

I am delighted at the moment to be rehearsing Poulenc’s masterpiece, his one act opera La Voix Humaine – The Human Voice, with performances coming up very shortly as part of the International Music Festival KYPRIA 2009. My excitement is doubled by the fact that this production of La Voix  is especially designed by Andy Bartzilli and directed by Stuart Barker for the Festival, with the participation of the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra. We are also thrilled to have on board the conductor Orlando Jopling with whom I have worked with in the UK, and who is equally passionate about Poulenc’s Opera.

If you are in Cyprus don’t miss the shows! The premiere, which coincides with  50 years from the very first premiere of the opera in Paris, will be at Strovolos Theatre in Nicosia on Sunday 27 September and at The Rialto Theatre in Limassol on Monday 28 September. Both shows start at 8.30pm.

I will be writing again soon. Be well and happy always, and I look forward to seeing you at the shows!

With all best wishes,

Katerina xxx
