I Pagliacci!

I’ve just realised it’s two months again since my last blog! I don’t know how it happens… but certainly time goes quickly these days especially since I’m so busy with rehearsals, preparation for the autumn schedule, learning new repertoire and travelling. I hope that you are well and enjoy the rest of the summer days.

It’s been a very exciting summer for me, and for that I’m very grateful. I’ve been working on a lot of different projects and have enjoyed every moment of  the learning process. I’ll be soon rehearsing Nedda from the opera I Pagliacci within the New Opera of Moscow (The Kolobov Novaya Opera) and then performing the role in September within the Kypria International Music Festival. I’m delighted to be singing Nedda, one of my favourite roles and one that suits my voice very well, and look forward to working on the production with the rest of the opera company.

Another very interesting project is coming up also in September, a collaboration with the French Artist David Visan, and my first attempt to mix my soprano voice with electronic music. The preparation for this has been equally a joy and I look forward to my first live performance with David for the Grand Opening of the Spa at Almyra Hotel in Paphos, one of the most beautiful hotels of the island of Cyprus. I remember enjoying a lot the improvisation classes while I was a student at the Guildhall and I’m so happy the opportunity has come up for me to work on improvising live with my own soprano voice!

I’ll keep you posted with all my news, please keep checking the Diary Page for all forthcoming performances, and I promise not to take so long again to write a post… I must hurry off to a rehearsal now with my pianist Anthony Legge and tenor James Edwards, for a charity concert we are giving at the Hellenic Centre in London in October 6th. We’ll be singing some of the most heartbreaking love duets in opera, those ones from Madama Butterfly, La Boheme, and La Traviata.

Please join us if you are around in London then! All ticket sales profits will be donated to a charity based in the UK called Alkionides UK. You will find the link of the charity’s website under the Links/Charities Page.

Enjoy each day as it comes, and make the most of it with feelings of love, peace and happiness.
